BananaBird-Dev is a personal finance tracking tool. The application is designed around the idea that your financial data belongs to you.
BananaBird-Dev is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Kevin Fox in Ontario, Canada.
In this Privacy Policy, “BananaBird-Dev,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Kevin Fox carrying on business as BananaBird.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices you have regarding your information.
Information We Collect
When you create an account or use BananaBird-Dev, we may collect:

- Authentication information – such as hashed passwords, encrypted multi-factor authentication secrets, recovery-code hashes, or social login identifiers.
- Financial information – information you choose to enter, including accounts, assets, income, expenses, and related notes.
- Billing and subscription information – such as Stripe identifiers, subscription status, billing dates, payment status, and payment-method availability.
- Technical information – such as IP addresses, browser types, session data, and application usage logs.
- Support communications – information you submit through support forms or email.
BananaBird does not directly collect or store complete credit card numbers, card security codes, or other full payment card details. Payment information is submitted directly to Stripe through Stripe-hosted payment interfaces.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the BananaBird-Dev service.
- Authenticate your account and protect its security.
- Store and display the financial information you choose to enter.
- Manage subscriptions, process payments, and administer billing-related account access.
- Send service, security, billing, and account-status communications.

Your information is used only for the purposes of providing, securing, administering, and operating BananaBird-Dev. We do not use your financial data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or unrelated aggregate analysis.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not access your financial data unless it is reasonably necessary to operate the service, respond to a support request initiated by you, investigate a security or billing issue, or meet a legal obligation.
Your Financial Data
The financial information you enter into BananaBird-Dev belongs to you.
BananaBird-Dev does not connect directly to banks or financial institutions. Financial information is entered manually or imported from user-provided files.
If you choose to create a Temporary User, the person you share that access link with may view your financial information on a read-only basis until the temporary access expires or you remove it.
Your financial data is used only to provide the features of the application. It is not used for advertising, marketing, or unrelated analysis.
AI Help Assistant
BananaBird includes an AI-powered Help Assistant that can answer questions about how the application works and explain concepts documented in BananaBird's Help & Guides.
When you submit a question to the Help Assistant, the text of your question and relevant BananaBird documentation are sent to OpenAI for processing so that a response can be generated.
The Help Assistant does not have access to your stored BananaBird financial data.
Because anything you type into the Help Assistant is included in the request, you should not include sensitive personal, financial, authentication, payment, or other confidential information in your question.
Data Storage and Location
BananaBird-Dev's' primary application infrastructure is hosted in Canada and the service is primarily intended for users in Canada.
Some third-party service providers, including Stripe, may process, transfer, or store personal information outside Canada, including in the United States.
Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or other government authorities in accordance with those laws.
Cookies and Sessions
BananaBird-Dev uses cookies and session technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, and operation of the website. These help keep you signed in, protect your account, and support normal application functionality.
Third-Party Services
BananaBird-Dev may use third-party service providers to operate the application. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their services.

Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our agreements.
If you delete your account or purge your data, the applicable information will be removed from the active application within a reasonable period, except where continued retention is necessary for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or operational purposes.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backup or recovery copies until those copies expire through their normal retention processes.
Stripe may retain payment and transaction information in accordance with its own legal and operational requirements.

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
